News package A news package is something which has a massive story and it can last for a short period of time and it also based around that one story throughout. The story that you will see will be pre-recorded and the bit in the studio where the news anchor is will be live, he will introduce the story and then it will go straight to the pre-recorded section. The exact time that this will run for will on be 1 to 2 minutes, so it isn't that long but it is long enough to get all of the main information in. Field reporters- Field reporters are used in news packages so they can get news from down on the street and this gives the whole news a realistic feeling and it can also help with keeping the audience engaged through out the whole news report. -costumes- what are they wearing when they are on location? -level of involvement in story- how much is the person involved in the actual story. -choice of presenter (gender, ethnicity, background)?- whether the presenter suits that role. -graphics- were there any graphics involved?

If the story is sad then the presenter will sound sad so he is representing the story nicely but if the story is about something good then the presenter will give positive vibes and the audience will feel the positive vibes. -tone of voice?- how does the presenter sound when he is talking about a story? -accent- does the presenter have a strong or weak accent? -language complexiality?- does the presenter use big words or hard words that some people may not know. -fact provider vs. analysing expert?- does the presenter provide facts or have they analysied and giving there point of view on the story? Interviewing experts and witnesses- Interviewing experts and witnesses are always in news packages and they are all about getting as many people as you can to be interviewed so the report looks more interesting and engaging to all of the audience.

-location- has to be specific to the report you are talking about.
-status of interviewee- what status do they have? (stand by, relation to family)

Report structure- Report structure can be in a news package and this is where news has been laid out in a certain way where it starts off with and opening and it includes the middle which is; interviews, vox pops and pieces to camera and then it ends with a signing out. This is how a report structure is done.
-sign in and context- do they introduce themselves and talk about whats going to be involved in the news report.
-archive footage- is the footage from the past?
-interviews and vox pops- are there any interviews with anyone?
-fact communication?- how are the facts portrayed.
-on location and where?- where are they filming from and whether they are in the studio or not.
-pieces to camera- does the presenter look at the camera at any point?
-sign out and framing story- who they are and where they were reporting from and also a summarise of the story.
-outside broadcast- whether they are filming outside?
-cutaways and noddies- if there are any cutaways during filming or if you can see the presenter nodding as a cutaway. Actuality footage- Actuality footage is in a news package and you are able to see real life footage that is either filmed from a professional camera or a hand held camera and everything you see is being filmed live on location so what you see is what likely is happening there and now. -source- where the footage has actually come from? -reason for using?- why have they used the footage? -amount used?- whether they have used a lot of someone else's footage or not. -contextualisation?- whether someone is talking while something is happening. First example-
This clip is of 9/11 and the attack that shook new york as a country, this whole clip has a live interview at one point with someone who was standing directly below the tower as it was hit and she tells her experience and how she had to escape from what was happening. You hear many eye witnesses that have called in to explain what they have seen happen themselves, and you also get to see live footage for when it happened when the 2nd plane crashed into the other tower.
Interviewing experts and witnesses-
This was definitely needed in this whole report because getting interviews from people that were part of 9/11 made it very realistic and also you get to hear from what the person says and how terrifying it really is. At 6:28 you see a woman that was there when the first plane flew into the building and she talks about how she was directly at the bottom of the tower when the plane hit and all the debris started falling she spoke about everyone running away to stop themselves from getting hurt. The camera techniques that you see for this bit inperticular would have been hand held with a professional camera and they may have done this so it gives that effect that if they have to run they can run! this will have great effect on the audience.
Actuality footage-
In this news report you are able to see all footage of the twin towers and all this footage that you can see is 100% real, none of the footage has been pre-recorded. From 1:33 to 41:41 is when you see footage from a helicopter and also other cameras which have been set up on top of roofs etc. All these cameras have been set up so they can keep up to date throughout what is happening. This also proves that this is real footage because at 15:00 you see a plane fly into the other world trade building and you can hear how shocked and discomforting it is because the man that is in the studio has to report what had just happened quickly and the man that is an eyewitness who is on the phone starts saying that 'people are running' this shows that he is scared of what is happening. The source of the footage is coming from helicopters and also CNN cameras which have been able to get to the top of buildings to record the coverage. The reason they used this footage was to show the audience what has happened and to keep the audience engaged in there news report, the news thought if they show more footage they would keep everyone engaged and hooked onto the edge of there chairs and this probably did help because they were able to semi cover the 2nd plane going into the building. The amount of this real footage they used was the whole report and they did this to keep the audience engaged and interested all the time.

The footage that we see throughout this whole clip is footage that is very serious and it is also LIVE. this word tells me straight away that everything we see is real and none of it is pre recorded or fake.
Anything can happen when something is live and that just added to how tense watching it really was, it wasn't nice watching as you sat there at home watching one country have its monuements destroyed! The camera was placed a really long distance away and that is to add to the realism and also to capture everything but stay at a safe distance so nothing bad can happen to the footage. when i watched the footage over again the most horrible part happened at 15:00 minuites exact and this shows that when you are filming live anything can seriously happen, and the thing that happened was having a 2nd plane crash straight into the 2nd building and it was horrible because you knew that loads of people lost there lives as soon as that plane hit the building. Because all of this footage was filmed the news were able to keep the audience griped at all times and were able to keep them fully updated with what was exactly happening throughout the report.

This is a news report which looks at the buisness side of life and also falling outs between certain people.
Field reports-
The field reporter that is on location isn't wearing a suit but she is still appropriate because she is wearing a shirt which is presentable, you see this at 4:10. The effect of actually seeing the presenter during the report gives it that effect that it is a serious situation because if they didnt go to the location then we would assume that it isn't such a big deal. The involvemnet i would say that this reporter has is not much, i would say that she has been giving this report to do and she has grabbed the facts and done the report, but she doesnt do the report at a rubbish condition she does it so it is acceptable for many viewers to watch. The choice of presenter is wise because they had an English indian women be the presenter for that report and they have done this because the report was near the indian capital so the news company gave the report to an indian women and the report wasnt bad at all and i think it worked well. The graphics they had throughout the report were the graphics that told us the witnesses name and also the union guys name, these graphics help us know who they are and it also tells us if they were involved or whether they were picked out just to feel gaps.
Mode of address to viewer-
From the reporters side of view i think she had quite a serious tone throughout her report, she didnt sound excited or sad, she stayed neutral throughout and i think this gave the news report is tense but not so tense vibe. The effect that this tone would have on the audience is to keep them engaged and to also listen very carefully and create the story in your mind. The accent that the news reporter had was strong because she comes from an indian background but throughout i could understand every word she said and the news used her to keep the story appealing to the indian ethnicity and it did keep me engaged aswell because the clips you saw were very serious. The language that the news reporter used was formal because she has to be serious and also the words she used throughout were understandable, there were no words which i couldnt understand. I think the reporter her self is just an analysing expert and i say this because she is hearing what happened and she is just giving us bits of the story and turning it into her point of view, she didnt provide many facts, she only analysed the story and told us what happened through people.
Report structure-
At 2:28 you hear the news anchor introduce the reporter and also what the story is going to be about, after she has done this it goes straight into the report. They do this so it keeps the audience up to date and to also tell them who is doing the report. When we are looking at the report you are able to see many things that help us gather what has happened in the story like the violence, the people that have injuries and also what has happened now everything has calmed down. In this report you are able to see interviews, pieces to camera and also the news reporter is on location where the problem actually happened. You see an overall of 2 interviews in that report and you are able to see that one was part of the story and one had nothing really to do with it but he is giving his point of views on the situation, the effect that these interviews have is that with the injured man it can make you fell sorry for him and support him and the other interview is done so you can either agreee with what he is saying or you can disagree with what he is saying. In the report at 4:07 you see the reporter on location and at the scene where all these incidents happen you also see her staring directly into the camera to keep the audience engaged and it also looks like she is telling you rather than informing you about the incident. You also hear the reporter at 4:51 sign out of the report and tell them where they are. This just tells us that they went to the location to give it that real effect and also seriousness.
Docu Drama
A Docu Drama is a film or television program based around legit facts and also real peoples stories. Nothing is re-enacted. Everything that you see while watching a drama documentary is 100% real, they will use live footage and real facts to keep the audience engaged at all times. The person that creates the documentary may go to the exact location of where the actual incident happened and this gives the whole documentary itself the real vibe.
-Pompeii: The mystery of people frozen in time
This whole documentary is about Margaret Mountford going to Pompeii and looking at a popular landmark which is the city that got destroyed by the volcano versyuviast many years ago.
-King George VI - The Man Behind the King's Speech
This documentary is about King george VI and how the king struggled with open talks and also you hear about the live that this king lived.
-9/11 documentary
This is a strong example of a docu drama because everything that you are told throughout the documentary is real. At 27:40 you clearly see live footage of a plane going straight into the building, this is shocking footage to see but because it is real footage and not re-enacted it gives the whole documentary that real effect. You are also able to hear live communication between many people who were involved with the whole 9/11 incident. There are many conventions that make this program very engaging like a voice over, archive footage, editing, the presentation of facts. All these conventions help make this program entertaining for the audience that watches it. This show uses a voice over so the person can tell you what is exactly happening when you see the image, a voice over can also go into depth with what we see instead of us guessing what is happening. You can hear a voice over at 0:03 and the man that is doing the voice is american and his voice is deep so it adds to the tension of the whole documentary. A voice over is used in a show to keep the audience engaged at all times and also tell them what is happening by explaining it clearly as things happen. A docu drama will use archive footage as well so that we are able to see what exactly happened without it being re-enacted. At 18:48 you see real footage of the twin towers bellowing smoke out the top of the towers and just this footage can add realism and tension to the documentary. Archive footage this gives the whole documentary that real effect and also real footage can have an effect on the audience as well, the effect is that they can feel the emotion and shock that many people witnessed when they saw it happen with there own eyes. In a docu drama the presentation of facts is always key as what is said will be taken very seriously and also everything will be remembered for many years so facts need to be correct. At 18:56 you see where the plane impacted the building and what floors it exactly hit. The effect that facts have on the audience can be dramatic because if the facts are wrong then we will never know the true story but when facts are right the audience are more engaged because they know everything they see is real.
Docu Soap
A Docu soap is a television documentary series which gets involved in peoples live and you can also see how there life is presented. Most of these documentaries involve people that we don't know anything about but they are still able to do things that they love doing without any of it being scripted or forced. Most things you see that go on throughout the documentary is how someone either gets fixed something gets done for someone in a way this is just drama and also something for the audience to enjoy. During soaps there a many cliff hangers as well and that happens throughout the show to add to the suspense and also that feeling that something could either be really wrong or something can be good.
-My big fat gypsy wedding
My big fat gypsy wedding is all about looking into the lives of these young women that are getting married and you are able to see how they approach that special day and also all the problems they could have towards that day.
-Ax men
This show is about loads of big men who are out in forests cutting down large amount of trees and you also see when problems go wrong a cliff hanger will appear and the show will go to a break, as the audience you would want to see what happens next straight away. so throughout this show in particular there is a lot of suspense created.
-Miami ink
This is a strong example about a docu soap because you see into the lives of the tattoo artists and also you get to see something they love doing. This video is just a small clip of a tattoo artist tattooing a customer. This show isn't all just about the artists tattooing people, you do get to see into there life at certain points through the show. This program has many conventions that a docu soap needs like editing, interviews and also the shots they use to film what is happening. At 1:10 you see the pain that the customer is going through while she is being tattooed and this helps us as the audience understand what she is going through. The lighting is also important because us as viewers would like to see what is happening and also the surrounding as well so it gives us that vibe that it is done in a tattoo shop. Editing is important because the more shots you have to edit the more footage you can get in for the audience to be interested in, at 0:28 you see the design on the woman's body then at 0:29 you see the woman's body as it is about to get tattooed. Editing has an effect on the audience and that effect is that it keeps you looking at as many things so you are interested at all times. They also have interviews in this show so you can here from first person why they are having the tattoo, at 2:40 you can hear the woman's voice while looking at her tattoo from pictures, she is telling us that she likes the tattoo. Interviews are used to basically let one explain to many maybe why she got the tattoo and also why she loves it, interviews give the audience first person information. The way things are shot is very important as well, as many shots in one program is good because it makes it different rather than having it boring. At 0:06 you see a shot which is a mid shot because everyone is cut at the waist but then later on a close up is used at 1:11 they used a close up to see the woman's pain or to see how she was re-acting to the tattoo while it was being done. The effect that loads of shots have on the audience can make the program more entertaining and also not boring, if the program was shot in one angle the program would be terrible. Infotainment
Infotainment is a program which is full of information but they are also able to make you enjoy the program by having lots of entertainment. The people that make these types of documentrys intend on making a show really enjoyable and to keep the audience interested at all times. A documentary wouldn't be part of this genre if it didn't be entertaining but teach you at the same time.

Top gear is a show which is full of entertainment at all times because they are able to entertain the audience at all times and they are also informing the audience about all the latest cars and everything to know about that car.

This show is an infotainment show because a man named Karl pilkington goes to different countries and sees how they live or do things and he also sometimes gets involved. The show is funny because Karl is a man who is very negative and he is always moaning about things but when he sometimes moans he speaks the truth and that is also a reason why it is funny, it is information stacked as well because you see the culture of the many other countries.

This show is a good option as infotainment because us as viewers are able to learn everything about football from an ex professional and also you get see all his old footage of when he played football.The conventions that come with this show are editing montage,, interview, strong and interesting premise and also use of experts, all these conventions are used in the show to make it more interesting and funny at the same time. This show is known for having laughs most of the time. At 0:30 you see footage of Chris Sutton when he played football. This helps us as the audience to understand who he was. An editing montage was used straight away in this show for a guest before he was interviewed the montage was at 0:27 and this editing montage was full of all this players goals and his unbelievable career, the effect that an editing montage could have on the audience is that it shows loads of clips in a short amount of time so it keeps the audience interested and also what you see could bring back memories of when you saw the goal live. This show also uses experts and these experts are the guests themselves, at 0:25 you see an expert who knows plenty of things about football so he will be able to give his views on many things and also because the show is a football show, it would only be wise that they have a expert who knows a lot about football. The effect an expert can have on the audience is that they might find out new information about the game it self and also you are likely to hear truth rather than someone making it up. An interview is likely to be on this show as well because you are going to be entertained but told lots of information by the guests, an interview in this show is at 1:34 this is the start of the interview and i know that throughout that interview he is going to be talking about sport at all times especially football. Interviews are used to let the audience hear from someone who is experienced football player and you also may find out personal information.
Reality TV
Reality TV is all about being able to look into the personal lives of people and you get to see what they do and also the events that take place in peoples lives. Reality TV can be very funny depending on who the show is about. This genre looks into celebrities lives as well as normal people and it goes into depth so the audience will be interested at all times. This is how a program gets views by going into real depth instead of finding the outside story.

This show is all about looking into the life of the Kardashin family, you get too see as the audience and people who are interested in this family what they get up to and do everyday.

This is a show which gives us as viewers an insight to the lives of these people who make duck callers. This program focuses on the family that started the company and also the workers that work inside the company, you get to see them do things they enjoy as well like blowing up stuff as you can see at 0:20, this just shows us what the people either get up to in there free time or whether they just do that for fun, they will use footage like that so the audience can see something they don't usually see and also maybe unlikely to ever do, it is also very entertaining to see something explode. They interview the people from the show to get there view on what is happening within the show but these people are not academically smart so they answers with silly answers but this also gives the show its funny side of things. At 0:30 you see an interview kind of scenario with the main man and also a worker, the way they talk can instantly tell you that they probably didn't go straight to school. Interviews are used to hear what they think about there job and also what they get up to, the effect this has on the audience is that they can hear what the person truly feels about something. This program uses suspense very well, whenever this type of program have a problem; either it be serious or small, they will always cut to a break so then as the audience we will want to see what happens next, so we all naturally stay tuned and get ready to see what happens.

Educational television is a TV program which actually does what it says. It educates you while you watch the program on TV. This type program can be stand alone and series, if the program is stand alone then there will only be one show which is dedicated to teaching you about one thing and if there is series then that show is likely to teach you many things over certain amount of shows.

This show was made to teach many children that from certain scenes that that is how you are suppose to act in school. Many young children watched this show when it was around and i'm assuming they learnt different aspects from it.
-Richard hammond blast lab
This show is all about teaching young children about science and how things have evolved in the world and also this program has been made to entertain the children as well and they probably do this to get the children interested in science.
-James may Toy stories
This is an example of educational TV. This is a show about James May who looks back at old toys and instead of looking back at them on a small scale he creates a project which some people would think unthinkable and he makes it possible. The conventions you would see in a show like this is facts, strong and interesting premise, use of suspense, presenter and editing montage, all these conventions will make the show what it is. At 0:45 you see James may talk about him and his team building a house made out of lego blocks, the is educational in a way because it proves that you can. James may uses facts here because he is telling us how many lego bricks it actually took to build that massive lego house. The effect that use of facts can have on the audience can be astonishing because people can be truly amazed by what they hear like i was when i heard they used so many bricks to build a full sized house made out of lego, facts made it real. This show needed a presenter and i think they chose the right man because he knows a lot about toys before the show started, it was obvious that James may knew so much because in the other shows he goes on about toys in so much detail and that is because he probably played with them in his childhood and the effect that this presenter had on the audience was good because many people knew him from 'top gear' and also the way he spoke about the toys told us that he knew a lot. Editing montage is very important for this type of show because when they build something that is larger than what it should be they want to show all angles of it, at 2:54 you see the metal bridge they made and also you get to see loads of shots so they catch absolutely everything, the more shots the better the footage and also the more engaged the audience will be at all times. Wildlife Documentary
Wildlife documentary's are a TV program which shows you into the life of wild animals and also other non-human living creatures, these programs are made to inform the public about the wildlife. The program is also mad to teach many people how wildlife is thriving and also being destroyed by us and also the O-zone layer. These programs are stacked full of information.

This is a film that was made to show all the people that are interested in penguins, what they get up too and how they live there life. Many people that enjoy things like this will love this film.

This documentary is a documentary that looks into all of the world and wildlife that consists in the world. There are a few conventions that come with wildlife shows and they are a voice over and presenter, film and photographs, use of experts, editing (piecing the footage together) and the presentation of facts. David Attenborough is one of the best people that i know who shows the world in a different light. Also the way he talks intrigues the audience that watch it and he keeps everyone engaged at all times, the footage that you see also does this because what you see could may never be seen with your own eyes. David is the presenter and he is one of the best people that they could pick to do a wildlife documentary, he gives the world such a positive light and also this must have huge effect on the audience because people will want to listen, every time i hear a documentary with Davids voice i always end up watching it because it is full of facts and his voice works with what you see on the screen. Film and photographs is very important in a wildlife program because the more images you see the more entertaining the program will be itself, some of the shots you see are rare to see and also some of the worlds most beautiful shots are seen from these documentaries, at 0:08 you see a shot of a mountain and the sun light shining behind, this shot is not seen everyday so when you see it most people are in awe and shock by how beautiful it is and that is the effect that film and photographs can have on the audience. David is also an expert, he has been doing wildlife documentaries for so many years now and because of that he knows so much so he is able to go into real depth when talking about something, at 0:18 it shows us as the audience that he knows a lot because he is talking about flowers and talking about how they bloom, i have seen other documentaries with David where he talks about wildlife animals, so this shows me that he knows a lot.
Special interest documentary
It is a documentary which is made for a very small target audience. They are also documentaries that are based around 1 topic, it doesn't drift off at any point throughout that documentary. Most documents that are made are aimed at a small group because of what the actual documentary is about, if you have a documentary based on football then many people that enjoy sports will watch it but if you have a documentary about trains then the number of people interested will decrease dramtically.
-World war 1 - The Great War
This is one documentary that is truly amazing because it is about one topic throughout the show and the conventions that are involved in this documentary as well are amazing, the conventions are archive footage, voice over and editing montage, these are three main conventions which are shown through the footage that you see. The archive footage is unbelievable because you get to see what the world was like many years ago. At 36:34 you see old footage of men with massive cannons shooting at the enemy, this is amazing footage to see. The effect that this type of footage will have on the audience is that it is real footage and it will relate to many people that watch it, it is real so the audience will be amazed by seeing something that will never be re-enacted. A voice over is important when listening to a documentary like this because you want to hear what is being said and someone explaining what you can see rather than just seeing a load of images. At 36:33 you hear the man that is talking about what has happened and maybe what you can see, the effect that a voice over will have on the audience is that it will keep the audience interested at all times because what you hear may have never been heard before and you are also likely to learn many new things. An editing montage is also needed for a documentary like this because this allows us as an audience to see loads of images or videos in a short amount of time. At 36:35 you see loads of different images that are from the world war 1 and these images like i said can have a good effect on the audience, the effect it can have is that it can make them bring back many memories and also it can show you how life really was back in them days. It is a reality TV show where they have someone from the public be picked and the program will change there life in a way. They are likely to pick someone who is struggling and has some deep problems and then the public or a company will provide something for this family then help get theres lives on track.

This is a show which is very recent and it is a show which talks about many peoples problems where they have had piercings or tattoos and they don't like them anymore so they want to get rid of them. seeing this can put people off having tattoos or piercings in the future.

This program is all about having specialized builders be asked to help someone out who is in serious need of help with there house. At 0:17 you see someone who sent in a video that is asking the builders to come and help out there friend who is in need of there house being fixed, this is an interview and this interview is used to try and show us as the audience that she is really in need of help. The effect that interviews have on the audience is that in this program it is to persuade us that she is really in need of help. The conventions that are involved in this documentary is hand held footage, strong and interesting premise, interviews, constructing a version of reality often using narrative techniques. All of these conventions make this show a success because you are able to see someones life get transformed and also you get to see what everyone thinks by it. Hand held footage is used in this show for a reason and that is because when they are building inside the house the camera man is unlikely to put his camera down because the floor may be un-even or there could maybe not be enough room. The effect that this kind of filming has on the audience is that is real and that it gives the whole building site scenario a real effect. you see a type of shot like this at 3:37, you can tell the camera work is hand held because the camera is moving at all times. This show also uses the reality life and puts a life's scenario into context and then they will help out this persons life. At 0:22 you see a picture of the people that are known to be suffering and the group of people that are going to change there life. the effect that this has on the audience is that you can relate this to yourself. This show is all about a group of experts will have many conversations about a single topic or they will include many topics in one show. Discussions are all about having many people give there own and different opinions on the different subjects and these discussions can be very bias because some people may know more about someone or a subject that someone else so the discussion could become very loud.

question time is a show which is all based around discussions and how people that are experienced in there area of knowledge being questioned by the public and then having a serious debate with them.

This is a show which has group discussions with the audience and the celebrity's as well. the conventions that would be present is interviews, points of view; bias, these are the main two conventions you would see in a discussion because people are giving there views and if they like certain people then they are going to be more bias with there answers. At 6:04 you see a man from the audience getting interviewed, so in this discussion you hear from the audience as well. This gives the whole show some reality because you dont just get one point of view, you get many. The effect that interviews have on the audience is that it is real and you get to hear from first persons views on something and also you can either relate to what they say or you can completely disagree with them. Most discussions now days are fully ran on bias answers, at 5:58 you see a man talking about what he was debating with his girlfriend from the night before and you can clear see that he is bias with his answer because he says it with confident. the effect that this can have on the audience is that it will make people from there own homes question whether what he saying is right. points of view also interlink with that because many people are going to give there views on what they see. the effect that this has on the audience is that you can hear what people think and you can either relate to it or not. The voice over is used for us to hear what they think the product is like or whether it is a reliable product that should be bought. The effect that a voice over has on us as the audience is that we are able to hear what someone really thinks about the product and they are also able to tell us what it is like, from hearing what one says can really persuade you too buy that product. The presentation of facts is very important because this will tell us whether a product is good, if you have loads of facts about something then you should tell them because the more facts that you talk about the more likely you are going to be able to sell the product but if you don't know nothing about it then you are unlikely to sell anything at all, at 1:30 you hear the voice over guy talk about the camera and how many mega pixel it has, if you like photography then you will interested. the effect that facts have on the audience is that you are able to hear what the product is like then us as customers can question whether this phone can be adapted for our type of lifestyle. They use experts in this program so you are able to have a proper discussion, you don't want to talk to someone who doesn't know much about something so experts is definitely key for this type of show. the effect that experts have on the audience is to tell us with as much information as they know what there true views are on that subject. you see the experts that are on the show at 0:22 to 0:43 you hear what there background is so if questions are asked about there type of knowledge then they are likely to answer the questions. Points of view is going to thrive through this show because many people have different points of view and people will want to get it off there chest and question the experts, at 0:58 you hear the first woman's question and you can see that this has bothered her because she has asked the question and she probably has a point of view on that subject but then so do many others that are there. The presentation of facts is very importantas well because the more facts that are said the more believable something will be, if the facts are true then you will believe everything you hear. The conventions you see in this sort of program is interviews, footage (VT's), music and use of experts, these are the conventions because this show has experts come on to talk about what they know. A magazine show has alot of stuff going on throughout the show and because they have this it can keep alot of the audience interested at all times. At 0:10 you see the main man from the group sting about to start his interview, he will be asked many question about his career and everything around that, they will ask him questions that will keep the audience engaged at all times. The effect that interviews have on the audience is that they will keep them engaged and also for the interviewee to tell them something that they may not have heard yet. At 11:22 you also see a live performance from the man himself and they do this so the audience get to have a small live show and the songs they usually sing on the show are songs which they have either just created or which are relatively new. They do these things on magazine shows so the audience are entertained throughout the show and it is also a little treat to all of the regular viewer's that watch the program. At 10:10 to 10:11 you see an increase in the number of guests and that is because they have just had a VT all about food, you don't see the VT because this clip is aimed all about 'sting' but a VT would have definitely been present. A magazine show will use a VT so the audience are able to learn other things while watching the show it is also a bit more entertaining instead of staying in the studio all the time.
